Default 16:9 / 1920x1080 possible?

I recently got a new screen and wanted to continue playing SH3 on it. But, surprise, its not working:

-d3d9-fix and dx9res10 crash the game at startup with fatal error in d3d9.dll.

-trying to run the game without any highres-fix brings up the message "could not inizialize 3d-engine"

If I try to switch my desktop oer to 1280x1024 via nvidia driver settings, the desktop is streched regardless of the option "no scaling".

I am using a GTX560 1GB

anyone got that working? thanks in advance....

MRV, try this mod if you want a hi res game:

http://www.gamefront.com/files/21897435/_DX9HiResFix.7z

be sure to edit the d3d9.cfg to have the resolution that you wish to use. im a m running the game at 1920x1200
with no problems
however, if you wish a widescreen fornat, you will need the widescreen mod along with mag gui widescreen mod. All of your GUI elements need to be widescreen for the widescreen mod to work, its a bit more hassle but very do able

Ok thanks for the replies, I was away for a while and tested the widescreen mod.

But there is one problem:

-if I run die dll provided in Conus' widescreen GUI mod it works at 1080p, but the game display only uses about 2/3 of the lower left part screen, the rest of it stays black.

-if I try to use the dll in bretts' link the game also works, but everything is stretched and conus' modification are not used (although they are installed).

Do I have overlooked something?

I have an ATI 5870 and an ACER 23" monitor and had a problem close to what you are having. Are you using an HDMI connection? It may be that you need to "scale" the graphic cards output to the monitor (or tv) that you are using. Your graphic cards software should help you do that.

I use a nvidia GTX560Ti on an iiyama E2475HDS and DVI cable, most recent nvidia drivers. The highres mod does not work, its not crashing the game, but only the lower left two thirds of my display are used by the game when I try to run it at that resolution.

Trying to change the scale settings in nvidia config doesnt change anything.
