Default Miss placed Folder on JSGME

Greetings fellow Captains,

So, as the title says.. I accidentally miss placed a folder into the JSGME..

I'm currently using JSGME v2.6. when entering a mod folder, i accidentally clicked my "My Documents" folder into the JSGME. Now the folder (with all 5GBs content in it) is in the ...\ubisoft\silenthunter5\mod folder..

I'm hoping any of you guys can help me retract/ undo my stupidity or guide me to a specific reference/link here.. and if possible (to respectful Admins and Moderators) to make it a sticky.. For further references to me and my fellow beginners (newbies).

My deepest apologies if there has been a type/ similar thread as this...

Ok, let's go

First of all, backup your "My documents/mod" folder (the one which contains all your sh5 mods). Eventually, backup the .mep file created by JSGME (that is a text file which tells JSGME what is your own sh5 mods order, if you have previously saved it. If no, run JSGME, click on "Tasks", choose "Save mod profil", put a name like "SH5ModSave" and choose an easy saving path, like windows desktop, because you will use this .mep file later in this tutorial).

Then uninstall JSGME, and re-install it but be sure to re-install it in SH5 main folder. The JSGME installation process will create a folder named "MODS" inside SH5 main folder.(.../Silent Hunter 5/MODS).

At last, copy all files and folder from your "My documents/mod" folder AND the .mep file in your SH5/MODS folder.
Now, run JSGME, click on "Tasks", choose "load mod profil" and choose the .mep file which now is in SH5/MODS folder.

Play SH5 !

That's all !!!

@all : don't hesitate to correct this "on-the-fly" tutorial.

Regards.

very easy to fix, just answer some questions:

first did you copy "my documents" to jsgme or moved the folder there?

are you sure it didnt just create a shortcut to "documents" in jsgme? if its a shortcut it will have a little arrow box in the corner of the icon

if your "documents" folder is completely missing from windows then try doing a system restore to fix it and see if its back

what opperating system are you using?

Thanks Capt. but "My documents" literally meant My Documents as in work files, videos, pics, secret nuclear launch code... nothing in it that has SH5 Mods..

I did use the "task" option in JSGME... Actually, I did do a system restore and THANK GOD and you guys, it's back!!

So a tip.. ALWAYS DO A DISK IMAGE BEFORE/ AFTER INSTALLING NEW SOFTWARE...

I'm using Windows 7 x64bit...

Question.. Does it matter if you install a program/ software between the Program Files and the Program Files x86 folder, concerning RAM usage?

Thanks Guys..

with windows 7 its best to let it decide where to install things, everything works better that way

the only opperating system that had issues with where programs were installed was vista and its not around anymore thank goodness
