OM Promotions?

Hey OM players! Sorry if this is addressed elsewhere (believe me, I looked!).

I'm currently playing OM and started with a Type II. I have BOATLOADS of renown (pun intended). Yet command has not approached me about upgrading my uboat to a new model. While I'm not sure who I irritated up my chain of command, I'm hoping someone can tell me whether or not OM actually will assign you a new boat if you're performing well? Has anyone else had this issue?

I current use the first indications (original post by Cezbor) because its more historical correct and all so works fine...after you execute the modifications reboot your machine. Ah do this in port...

Did you get it to work MrGoTime? I'm also trying to figure this out and RedHeat's post seems to be more related to rank promotions in SH3 than SH4 boat upgrades.

Thinking the same thing myself.

This question of boat promotions got asked a lot in the OM main thread. Lurker always said that new boat types were offered, based on renown and historical availability. In particular, he said that a new boat type was always offered if the user was in a boat which was withdrawn from service during the war.
