need two recommendations:Haunted House and D&D game

I am looking to buy some computer games (PC only) for my niece and nephew. I would like suggestions on what games I could get for them.

My requirements are that the game be for the PC and that it does not require an persistent Internet connection. An older game would be quite acceptable.

My niece wants a good haunted house exploration game. Nothing gory, no FPS doom like games, but she likes spooky stuff. I was looking at one (I forget the title) but it appeared to be nothing but a collection of puzzles.

What she wants is the "old dark house" experience with candles and thunder storms. A good mystery story plot would be a plus.

My nephew is into D&D. Is the Neverwinter Nights 2 expansions the better choice or are there others that still remain faithful to D&D genre. On the short list is Baulder's Gate series, which I feel is still one of the better RPGs out there. Icewind Dale is also being considered but I was never a fan of that when it came out. PS:T may be a bit too advanced for him.

Any suggestions for two games?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
