1. I have seen pictures of u-boats with only the number painted on the side instead of an emblem. Does anyone know of a mod that has only numbers in the 'emblem' pack?
If not, how hard would it be to make my own? I would really rather have (32) or whatever, on my tower. 2. This may sound stupid to some of you but, if you're in the torpedo room facing forward, there are four tubes. Two on the left and two on the right. How are they numbered? I've looked for a technical printout of a u-boat and can't find anything. My reason for asking is that, when firing a salvo, say for example, 1 and 3, the torpedoes seem to cross. Is 1 and 2 on the left? Is 1 and 2 the top tubes? Thank you for any help given. |

You can indeed make your own emblems. Using any graphics app that supports TGA format, like Photoshop or Paint.NET, make your emblem no larger than 256x256 with a color depth of 24 bits ( 16 million colors ). If you want only the numbers to show, set the background to transparent when saving the .tga file. Name it whatever you like and save it in your SH3 game under data\Emblems\Subemblems. If you want to get crazy and decorate the entire conning tower, have a look at privateer's excellent Turms Your Way mod. It's also included in Ace's Supah-Doopah-Woopah Turms Compendium.
As for the arrangement of bow tubes, I believe odd-numbered tubes are on the starboard, with 1 being on top, and even-numbered tubes are to the port side, with 2 being topmost.
