Dear Fellow uboat Captains
I recently downloaded and installed gwx 3.0 but i cant load into the game. I tried reinstalling sh3 and then gwx. But i keep getting the error. Menu item not found. I cant get into main menu of sh3 with gwx. Before installing gwx i still can. Any clues appreciated |

![]() The menu ID not found problem deals with a corrupt menu_1064_768.ini file or a corrupt file that the id is calling for. If your setup of SHIII works correctly, then you need to redownload the GWX3.0 and reinstall. It is possible, but highly unlikely, that your SHIII setup is corrupted. ![]()

Welcome DareDevil....the answer above is sound advice.
Not sure where you got your GWX files from but if they haven't been modded or any other file enabled that overwrites the menu file then it is possible you have a corrupt file but like Irish, I doubt it. The files on my link (above my sig) have been tested and found faultless many thousands of times so you may want to consider downloading from them. If you in fact got them from my link then with all due respect I'd wager it isn't corrupted files at fault in that case ![]() |

I had this problem once while moving things around in my menu(insert numbers here).ini file
If everything isn't right where the game thinks things should be in there, it flips out...

GWX must be installed on a clean copy of SH3.
If useing anything above Win XP, it must be outside of the standard install path. Recomended to defrag the drive after un-install because of how files deleted are handled in Windows. SquareSteelBar even released a new Tool to help remove SH3 stuff. Menu problem is a leftover from something not related to GWX install. I wrote the install so I know. |
