Okay, ship pack one doesnt seem to want to enable to via JSGME so decided to add the ships I want manually, among them are the Ryuho Light Carrier and Kaiyo escort carrier.I added the Oyodo , Myoko cruisers to appropriate groups in 1944 via notepad with no problems. Also added the large freighter to the game but not in use in the convoys or tfs yet, may add it to some convoys. Now, tried to add Ryuho and Kaiyo to "Ryuho KAIYO 3DE to Kure" in the 44a_Jap_Task_Force layer, which leaves Formosa on October 30, 1944 and heads to Kure(as said in title) For some reason, after I added them via notepad and loaded up the mission editor to see my changes, I keep getting an error that says "invalid class entry for Ryuho and Kaiyo" which makes no sense, they are both type 8 vessels, escort carriers as far as the game goes..Only thing I can think is the names are wrong but not sure what to change them to, some stupid issue no doubt which someone may know. The files that come in the mod refer to them a Ryuho Light Carrier and IJN Kaiyo.Ugh aggravating, up too late fooling around with this, but needed a break from studies.
Anyone? or perhaps someone could make a mod with Ryuho and Kaiyo, like the Nagato Myoko mod, where we just enable JSGME and add their names to the names.cfg file. |

If you give me a link to the 'shippack', I could look at it when I get a minute. Edit: read it again and you said "invalid Class entry". The 8 is Unit type not class, it may be referring to the Class= is incorrect. The class referred to in a mission file is the 'Classname' from the Roster or the shipname.cfg file. Peabody

Bubblehead,
The ship pack has a folder inside a folder. Don't put "Ship Pack" in the MODS folder, open is and put the "Ship Pack 1" folder into the MODs folder. There are a few mistakes in the Chidori.eqp file (in the sea folder) replace with this: [Equipment 37] NodeName=M04 LinkName=torpspawngun StartDate=19380101 EndDate=19451231 [Equipment 38] NodeName=M05 LinkName=torpspawngun StartDate=19380101 EndDate=19451231 [Equipment 39] NodeName=M06 LinkName=torpspawngun StartDate=19380101 EndDate=19451231 [Equipment 40] NodeName=M07 LinkName=torpspawngun StartDate=19380101 EndDate=19451231 ;++++++ The End +++++ The name of the Launcher was changed and there were .. at the beginning of the lines, including "the end". It should have been a ; It load into JSGME fine.

I just found out about that duplicate folder situation with that set, as I just installed it two days ago, thanks for that reminder about the Chidori and the torp changes, had forgotten to do this.

As a side note it will open in most any word processor but some of them add unwanted 'hidden' formatting codes, so best to just stick with notepad. Peabody

If you make the corrections I pointed out, it should work fine with the Mission Editor and problem solved. One thing I did check is the Classname. It is set to: ClassName=Ryuho Light Carrier ClassName=IJN Kaiyo Two things I am not sure about, first this is also the Dispaly name, second I never saw a Classname with spaces in it. I don't know if they are issues or not. But as I stated above I did have it working with the Mission Editor and with JSGME. If you still have problems send me your mission file and I can take a look. Edit: Added ships to mission editor got this: [Unit 1] Name=_JP CVE Kaiyo#1 Class=IJN Kaiyo Type=8 Origin=Japan Side=2 and this: [Unit 2] Name=_Ryuho Light Carrier#1 Class=Ryuho Light Carrier Type=8 Origin=Japan Side=2 Is that what you have?
