Default USS DRUM SS 228 For you Gato Class Fans

Here is the USS Drum My camera battery went dead and I wanted to take pics of the dive gauges and dive plane station . Btw the gauges are huge unlike what they are in Sh4 simulated






























Also Iam gald that I never served on a sub , because iam very tall lol !! ENJOY !!

I have been there several times over the years. I was glad they took her out of the water. The bay was doing a number on her hull back then. I love to tour the Drum and the Alabama there.

The last sub I visted over the years was USS Pampino In Redondo beach CA

So this was a treat since I go around the world alot ..

so...when do we fire her up and take her on a voyage? i wanna see an old gato under her own power...i would give anything to be there when they fire it up and leave the harbor...

Great photos !!! I was a surface skimmer myself. it would really be worthwhile to tour some of these old boats.

Makes me look forward to next week. I'm planning on taking the kids down to see Cavalla in Galveston. I really hope the conning tower is open. Last time we were down there, it wasn't, but it's been a few years.

I plan on making them watch before we go, too.

You're in California? Get to the Pampanito if San Fransisco. I managed to drag my boss there a few years back while we were in the area for a conference.
