Tracking a target's speed and other issues..
Hello everyone!
I'm new to subsim and SH5. I've been looking around the forums and have found tons of great info on nearly every subject! However, I have a few questions that I haven't been able to locate answers for just yet and I'm hoping that someone could point me in the right direction. The mods that I'm using are TheDarkWraith's UI and FX mods as well as the morale mod and the real environments mod. The only problems I'm having are 1.) How to see (or determine) a target ship's speed for imput into the TDC. And 2.) How to transition between moving the attack periscope around and then using the mouse to click on other objects such as the torpedo launch interface. The problem with the mouse getting stuck in the attack periscope is quite annoying. It's like my cursor is getting hung up in the periscope, and no matter if I click or whatnot it won't let me out of the periscope (while still in periscope view) in order to do things like fire the torpedos or enter more info into the TDC. As of now, I have to press enter to view the sub's system panel, exit that panel and then I can enter info into the TDC etc. But, when I click back into the view of the scope to move it around, I'm again stuck and can't get out, I have to press enter again. Does anyone have any advice on this? ![]() The other problem is that, in the original unmodded version of SH5 you could see your target's speed on the map when you moused over it. Now I can't, and would like some advice on how to either see the speed or determine it myself. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm very new to the game (have had it for 5 or 6 days) so please bear with me and understand that I'm just now learning the mechanics and names of everything. |

Enable item notes to see speed (there's an icon for it in the upper right bar - you might have to click the little circle on the bottom left of the clock to expand the upper bar)
As far as the mouse couldn't tell ya. I don't have any issues. I right click to enable scrolling the scope and I right click again to stop scrolling and get my mouse back. |

I get the same bug as you sometimes. The pointer gets stuck in the periscope view and won't move. I've found that I can free up the pointer by pressing the Esc key, this brings up the main menu, then click on resume and all's well. Hope this works for you .
