Default FLAME

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worl...s-exposed.html

Found it in German news on several sites, got this English link.

It's just a question of time before such a thing will show up somewhere in the Western infrastucture as well (assuming that it has not already happened and is just kept secret) . Will be great fun then.

My first bet for who the author is, is on the US, followed closely by China, and Russia in third place. Israel I see as unlikely, since Israeli networks are also infested. EU states do not know what the word cyberwarfare means, and if they would, they would consider it as illegal as long as it is not directed against their own people .

Saw this one on the BBC, very impressive indeed. Got to be the US or perhaps Russia. Not likely to be China but can't rule it out.
The EU nations wouldn't even know how to switch a computer on, let alone hack someone.

Impressive piece of work though, sod being a computer technician in Iran, that's all I can say!

Also available on 13888 floppy disks:

To kill the fun: the actual size of the virus is 20Mbyte, not 20 Gig - the telegraph did also correct this

Perhaps someone simply put too much faith in Norton

lol, I was sure I saw someone moving under the disks!

Damn, now you reminded me to look around my office: 6 empty bottles, 4 boxes of dvds, 2 old newspapers, a PSU, 2 broken mainboards, tons of cables - and an old vcr . Now I feel like a ragbag.
Well, I'll clean up tomorrow, time to drive home....

Flame-makers send 'sucide-code' to infected computers

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-18365844

Looks like a cut and burn op has started. Bit too late though I'd say...

Indeed! This is one impressive piece of cyperwarfare. Odds are China directs its attacks at the US. The US is probably attacking Iran, but who's Russia picking on?

I wouldn't be surprised if the US also attacked Israel in order to gain intel that MOSSAD would not ordinarily share with them, particularly given the current level of trust between the two.

Stuxnet and Flame developers co-ordinated.

That, for me, is the biggest let down of The Big Bang Theory - in at least one episode there is Norton 360 sitting on the bookshelf. I really doubt Sheldon would use that.
