Hello guys, I hope I've put this discussion into the right place for a recommended setup of mods for the stock version of the game. Move as needed, if needed.
I am aware of all of the supermods as well as the sticky that lists out some of the more popular mods. I've looked through it for a while and came to the conclusion I just want the stock game, but betterfied. Better quality, higher resolution images, sounds better, looks better, feels better, without getting overwhelmed by the massive changes in the supermods. So I'd like to extend a hand and ask if you guys can recommend some other mods that would make a better stock version of the game. My current mods are as follows (installed in this order as well): Game Fixes Only 1.1 Game Fixes Only New Orders Bar Menu Optical Targeting Correction OTC for 16 to 9 Aspect Ratio Crew Rank Fix Websters Eliminate Floating Plankton Websters Ship Manuvering Fix Websters Smaller Rain for v1.5 EAX Sound Sim with Manuvering Fix Websters New Sounds for SH4 3000 Yard Bearing Tool (1920x) Bigger Better Protractors And I'm currently downloading and going to add the following: Nav Map Makeover 2.0 w/ Optional Airport Changes Improved Stock Environment Clouds |

It's not that I'm ignoring what you've written, but there is something that will do all of this for you and not screw you over... "TMO 2.5 WTW".
Think of it as the TMO supermod but scaled back in terms of difficulty so that even a hack like me can (sometimes) evade sub-chasers. It also doesn't strip out map contact colours as well as a few other things to make it a bit more accessible for the non-elite. But you do still get the better sounds, graphics updates that make the stock SH4 look like it was ported from an Atari (maybe not quite to this degree but you'll understand when you see it) and a sharper UI. The only thing with TMO that I find disorientating now is going back to the SH3 keyboard config after getting used to the SH4 ones. But it's been six patrols now and I'm now hitting the right button first 90% of the time. Supermod: Yes. Superhard: No. Supercool: Yes. You wont regret it... I didn't. Regards, Rob. |

Hey Stargazer where do you find TMO 2.5 WTW. The only thing I can find is "Easier AI for TMO". Is that the same thing?

Stargazer, thanks for that information. I'll check it out. Gonna take me a while to download it on my internet connection.
