Dissapearing Saved Games

Another question for you guys, My saved games seem to be disappearing and I cant figure out why.

What is the correct procedure to save a game at sea, in port ?

Are you typing a name for these saved games? You have to designate and type-in a name. For example: as soon as I leave home port, I'll type "Pearl Harbor January 6, 1942". Then, every subsequent save, I'll select that same name before hitting "Save". I usually create another one named "Backup" and select both when saving (i.e., I save twice before exiting the game).
