Welcome aboard! You can read the FAQ for JSGME here: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=163447 That should pretty well explain how to use it.
![]() Here's a step by step tutorial for getting it installed. Download JSGME from here: http://www.users.on.net/~jscones/software/products/jsgme_setup.exe First double click the install program icon. ![]() Click on RUN then YES on the next two warnings you get. On the Select Destination Location screen click Browse to find your install folder. ![]() Click OK and the screen should look like this: ![]() Click NEXT and keep clicking NEXT till the install finishes. Once it's installed click the Program Icon on your desktop: ![]() The first thing it will do is ask you what folder you wanted to create. Let it create one called MODS and simply click OK from this screen: ![]() The program will now start and look like this: ![]() At this point CLOSE the program and lets find a mod to use. The one I've picked here is a 1500m bearing overlay. I'll drag the mod's folder into the C:\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 5\MODS folder the program just created. Make sure the first folder under your mod's folder is data, like this: C:\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 5\MODS\Gisement\data\... and not ...\MODS\Gisement\Gisement\data\... ![]() Now I'll start up JSGME again and I'll see my new mod listed! Click on the mod name on the LEFT then click the > arrow in the middle and it'll load the mod for me. ![]() As you can see here, and hopefully in your install, the mod is now installed and ready to be used! Just close JSGME and Enjoy! ![]() Last edited by kylania; 04-13-10 at 04:21 PM. Reason: Pictures |

Install JSGME into your SH5 directory. After that, you should find a "JSGME.exe" in your .\Silent Hunter 5\ - directory. Start it.
When prompted, select the name you find appropiate for your mods-collection (MODS being suggested, leave it as is for easy handle). Then, extract the mod of your choice to following directory: .\Silent Hunter 5\MODS\. Have a look in the MODS folder now. As an example, lets say you want to use a mod called "AWESOME". Now, your MODS directory should contain a folder called "AWESOME". INSIDE this folder (AWESOME) you should find a folder called "data". If this is there, restart JSGME and select the mod "AWESOME" in the left part of the window and use the arrows to get it on the right side. Done. If inside the folder "AWESOME" there is another folder called "AWESOME", you have to copy the folder "data" from INSIDE the 2nd folder "AWESOME" to the first folder called "AWESOME". So for JSGME to be able to install a mod, your folder structure for that mod should look like: .\Silent Hunter 5\MODS\name of mod\data. NOT .\Silent Hunter 5\MODS\name of mod\something else\data. Have fun. ![]() |

Nice. I might borrow some of these screenshots for my online user guide (that I'm still working on), assuming that's OK.

V1.5.1? I don't recommend running any version earlier than the latest, which is always available via the link in my signature.

![]() ![]() This is how I see it in my Folder. I cannot see my actual mod I want to upload on the JSGME program. I have downloaded Silent Hunter 5 from Steam, in which I do not have a Ubisoft folder anywhere. All I see is a SH5 folder in my documents, I dont know if that makes a difference or not. It does have all the saved game files and what not. All my other games are also saved in the Documents as well. But as far as the URL line goes, it shows the name of the mod twice. I tried to move the data from one file to the other but it will not let me. I don't know how to fix this. Please help? Last edited by NatPipitone; 04-12-12 at 11:06 PM. |
