Default orders med campaignn

Is it possible in GWX3 to be ordered by the BdU to go trough Gibraltar and join 29th flotilla or do I "simply" go trough the straits and if In reach Salamis/ La Spezia/Toulon and dock I hit the request transfer from the atlantic to mediterannean flotillas?

Interesting problem.
Afair you will be warped to your new flotilla after requesting a transfer.

Don't know if it has been done, but you could try to modify the starting point of the new flotilla into the harbour of your recent one and sail from there to Salamis. After this trip, change the starting point back to Salamis and sail out from there.
Edit: you may have to save outside Salamis, change the flotilla location back to Salamis, reload and then dock in your homeport.

Try and report, please.

Unfortunately, if you dock at any port other than your home, you cannot transfer flotillas.

You should be able to sail from your home-port through the straights to a location just outside of 100mn from La Spezia, and then end the patrol (if you get the option to dock at La Spezia, you are too close). This will teleport you back to your own home base where you'll be able to transfer to the 29th. Your next mission will start at La Spezia.

It's a round-about way of doing it, but at least you get to make the journey.

You have to be in open water - 100nm away from any dockable ports - and be at less than 100% reality, in order to be able to teleport home, and IIRC, you have to have completed 3 or more patrols before you can transfer.

I tried just transfering yesterday and today and, while the passage through the stratits of Gibraltar went almost without problem, it is the game that does not allow you to swich flotillas in ports other than home base. When I saved the current game and tried to change flotilla options I lost the saved game. So I guess if you have the 100% realism you have to go trough the Gibraltar TWICE!

With the 'start at sea' mod you are provided a departure point outside of your homeport. This location could be the departure point of your new homeport.

Let's say your are in Wilhelmshaven and you want to transfer to Salamis. Modify the departure point location of Salamis 'start at sea' to Wilhelmshaven and ask for the transfer.
You will be warped to the Salamis flotilla - now with departure point in Wilhelmshaven. Leave Wilhelmshaven, sail through Gibraltar and dock at your new homeport Salamis. Change the departure point location back to Salamis - or don't start at sea - and you will sail from Salamis the next sortie.

You'll have to copy and paste some simple data in the flotilla.cfg.

Start at sea point can be IIRC no more than 25km away from the actual port for it to work

As for the GWX France to Med mod

Many thanks Bigboywooly for your mod. I downloaded and I will try it!
Thank you Mittelwaechter for your explanations of the start at sea mod - I haven't yet tried it but I am going to.

Good hunting to you all!

This may be right, I honestly don't know.
But IIRC the game can spawn your U-Boot at 0°Lat 0°Long - somewhere west of Africa - far outside of any port.

Maybe I'll give it a try myself these days...

Don't think so. Not 100% sure though. You could save the game before the 100km distance, shut the game down and restart. Then before you load the campaign-savegame, change the realism options through the singlemission page so something below 100%. (as the realism options from the campaign section are not available)

Yeah the game will spawn you at 0-0 when there is an error in one of the files - flotilla and or LND matchup with co ordinates IIRC
Been a while tho

-Dock at harbour by any means preferable.
-Exit game
-Find sh3\data\cfg\Carees\commanders name folder
-Open Patrols_cfg_0
-Change lowest Flotilla=902 to Flotilla=907
