Default Abandoning ship

Is this possible to do in the game? I don't plan to do this yet, but I would rather be captured than go down with all hands...

I believe there is a mod that allows you to do this.

Alternately, SH3 Commander lets you change "Killed" to "Surrendered".

It's kind of hard to abandon ship from underwater. It can be done, but it's kind of hard.
