I am assuming that you are playing stock well there is a whole mess of things you might want to know.

First off you might want a mod called SCAF I think there is a version for stock I am not sure here is a link for SCAF for TMO 2.0 http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/down...o=file&id=1960

Also the stock games targeting manual is incorrect on several ships there are some mods that change the manual.Your best bet is to get one of the "super mods" Real Fleet Boat or Trigger Maru Overhauled as they both have corrected targeting manuals and you can get SCAF which corrects optics which allows you to have more accurate measurements with the optics.(long story short SCAF fixes some things that are wrong in the stock game.)If you wish to play U-boats I'd recommend Operation Monsun.

If you want to get the most from manual targeting then you will need SCAF.

What is up with your sig?

Is that supposed to say "Nacht Toten" "night dead"?

Never mind.
