SH3 Commander : http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/down...o=file&id=2923

The co-ordinates aren't real as the radio messages are just there for the feel ... but here a quadrant converter to get cha some ideas

For the life of me I can't work out how you find the map co-ordinates.
Mind you I've been reading so much about range , bearing , AoB that I've probaly missed something obvious.
SH3 doesn't have latitude and longitude. Any message with those coordinates is there for flavor only, so you don't feel like you're alone in the war. They are real messages sent during the war, and appear on their proper dates.

Also I can't find a working link for SH Commander.

And finally I sank a small sailing boat, schooner off Ireland, it was flying Brit colours but I stil felt bad about it,although I did have rather a lot of fun with the flak gun at the time. Just had to get that off my chest
It's a good thing the game doesn't take any of that into account. I usually leave them alone early in the war, but later I assume they have radios and will report my position. You're right, though - it is fun sometimes.

ps: Can I assume from your screen name that you're a player?

Thanks again for the replies, and actually I make "Jam" for a living, which is strangely the truth.

ROFL

this is only funny to me because I could actually hear the disappointment in Steve's voice In my head.

Yes I hear Steve's voice in my head.

Poor you. I hear my voice in my head too, but it's the only one. Well, sometimes I hear Jim's, but that's because we talk on Skype.
