Default Frame rate Improvments

Anyone know about a topic that would address a frame rate issue ? I i had my game running and My FPS bouces back foawrd from 10 to 64 fps ,, Ir worse when I have my scopes up and the clock slows down like crazy ,, The clock sound as though it is burping ! --- The Question should be asked How do you improve frame rates in the game ??

Try the d3d antilag file here http://www.gamefront.com/files/user/BadgerFinn

Turn all the graphics detail to zero.

Kimuraijn' What are your system specs? Like the Commader said, the Anti-Lag mod helped my game a lot but if you post your specs there might be something more to add.
Thanks

I have a Dual core Amd chip set with 2.47 mgZ ,, I have video card ATI 4800 with 1 gig ram on the card .And 8 gigs of ram on the mother board I alos use Turbo Boost to turn off stuff while playing the game I run win7 64 bit .. and about the anti-lag mod I have had that installed I was using 35 fps max and render head was set 3 , Should reconfigure that to something else? . Iam not quite sure about turning everything down to zero .. explain that please!

I think what the Commander meant was to try turning all your graphics options to low, to see how the box responds to low graphics settings. It's worth a try but your specs don't look low end at all, in other words your computer should be running this fine. My laptop seems to run this OK and I found that my video card is not supported but the latest drivers cured that. Sometimes it's the simplest stuff that gets this thing running.
Have you tried taking your mods out one by one? Kind of a process of elimination. I've found most of all problems are related to a mod gone bad or conflicting, or, a game file gone bad.
Anyway, with all that said, good luck and keep writing if the problem stays.

Thank you for the advice on antilag. I found it essential to be able to play this game, which is rather unfortunate. Disabling VSync, setting RenderAheadLimit=1 and FPSlimit=40 made this game playable even on maxed-out settings. I have a high-end system and initially I was stunned by how poorly the game run. But with antilag everything is on max and works smoothly. Also, rotating my view looking through the periscope as well as on the tower goes smoothly.

Is this anitlag file for DirectX 9 or can it be use on DirectX 11? I'm asking because I have Windows 7 64 bit with DX11.

I can't truly answer your question, but I can confirm it works on (my) Windows 7 64-bit.

If you have bad frame rates there are some things you can do that actually work .

Go to your ingame options/graphics and turn shadows to halfway or off .

Silent Hunter 5 is a DirectX9 game, and the antilag is a DX9 .dll file. You can run it fine. When you download it, edit the values in the .cfg file to suit and drop that and the D3D9.dll in the main SH5 folder (where the exe is). Exit the game to edit cfg options to find the best setting for you.

Turning shadows to half will increase fps.
Reducing the particle slider will increase fps.
Turning all detail/gfx settings to low will increase fps.

@ OP - Beyond that & the Antilag there's not much you can do; SH5 is a graphically intensive game. I used to struggle on an ATI 5770 1gig, needed another 5770 in Crossfire to make it run well at highish settings, so a 4800 will need to have all low settings in game. You could also try turning down the bitmap quality slider in your Catalyst Control Centre (or equivalent).

On the plus side, I upgraded to an Nvidia GTX 570 last night (with 8 gig of new RAM) and rock solid 60fps in Sh5, all details maxed. It's glorious
