Default Some more questions arises

So as I keep playing more questions occurs and they damand some answers from this great forum so here are the questions.

1.
I got a "graphic problem" or something with ships on horizon, there is no smoke and the ship seem to look a bit odd on the horizon. I never see the smoke first as my crew screams "smoke on the horizon" i only see the white foam and maybe top of the ship. So is there a fix for horizon smoke/ship "bug" or what ever you would call it. maybe tdw's fx mod? Looks even weirder then the picture if it's sunny as you can see the ships further away then.

This is how it looks:

2.
Why can't my hydrophone operator hear boats that is from 170-190 grader even if my engine is of, shouldn't he be able to do that? I can my self hear them very clearly but if I shouldn't and it's not realistic I will leave all that for my operator so it's as realistic as possible.
The time is sept 1939 with a GHG hydro if that makes any difference.

3.
Is there any other boat's then the one you get from the beginning that you get later in the campaign where there is any difference in look and other characteristics (dive time etc).

4.
And where is those areas that the bdu and Fdu sends messages. Example of message "Courageous destroyed. U-29 homebound. BE 3198" So where is area BE 3198?

Thanks for a great forum and fast answers!

I can't answer your first two questions, but the next two I can.

Yes, the newer boats are different, and better. One of the hallmarks of SH5 is the fact that each boat is shown, outside and inside, and the differences are there. Later boats are faster, dive deeper and carry more torpedoes and better equipment.

Ah, the Kriegsmarine grid coordinate system. The Germans created it and used it so even if the Allies intercepted their radio transmissions they wouldn't know where the u-boats were.

Aces Of The Deep had it, and the cursor would show the exact coordinates wherever you put it.

Silent Hunter 2 had it.

Silent Hunter 3 had it. Sometimes SH3 would have real messages of ship sinkings, but no one knew where they were because the Allies used the latitude-longitude system. The other complaint was that it only got as fine as the two-digit base system: AF11.

Silent Hunter 4 U-Boat Missions had it. In fact, SH4-UBM had both, and the KM grids get finer and finer as you focus in on the map. At close zoom levels it gives the whole 4-digit location.

Silent Hunter 5 doesn't have it. Why they saw fit to leave out the main system of communication the Kriegsmarine used, I don't know.

Anyway, here's how it worked:

Thanks will try the funnel smoke and thanks Steve for the enlightenment!!

Edit: Yes the enhanced funnel smoke works perfect even if the other bug is still there the thing you now notice is the smoke on the horizon and not the foam the ship is leaving behind. Thanks!!
