Default Convoy reports (GWX).

In past SH3 lives I have gotten convoy reports on my map and radio from over halfway across the Atlantic. It's May, 1941 in GWX and only contacts in and around England and Biscay seem to be appearing. In other words, only contacts relatively close to me. My Contacts.CFG shows:

Display Range To Opportunity Radio Contacts=250 ;[>0] kilometers
Display Range To Important Radio Contacts=750 ;[>0] kilometers

Is this something that gets altered by GW? I'm wondering if, in the past, I was getting the reports from farther away because I was using vanilla, or WAC, at the time.

Your settings are correct.

I don't know if GWX modifies it, but I see no reason why you cannot enlarge the opportunity range. I've set it to 750km also.

No, there was no modification imposed.

HMMmm...I wonder why I used to get reports from much farther away? Could it be the German ale has clouded my memory and I may have adjusted the distance in the CFG, in a previous life??

If you want to see much of what is out there give it a try but I warn you, it can be an immersion killer:

Now I'm running Windows XP, and the only problem I have with the SpySat Mod is that after a certain amount of patrols, it causes the game to crash.

So after about 15 patrols, I know its time to uninstall it.

First I've seen this problem reported but if that's what your set up dictates it's good you have developed a coping strategy.

Well, I just don't know what else to do.

I get error reports and the computer wanting to know if I should send an error report.

Is there any that can be done?

Just asking honestly.
