Default RFB AA and DG

I've been in a WWII mood lately, so I pulled out my copy of SH3 and SH4(I finally got SH3 to run in 1366x768 )

After two patrols in SH3 and losing my Type IIA to a coastal battery(I'm rusty ) on the second patrol, I load up SH4 with RFB(last time I played I used TMO).

The first Patrol sends me south of Osaka to take on Merchant shipping. I'm well into Japanese air coverage when my men spot an aircraft. I know I should have crash dived to avoid him, but I've never engaged an aircraft before.

I order General Quarters and tell the AA gun to fire at will. The problem is no one gets on the AA gun, or the deck gun for that matter. Both are supposed to be manned, but the only way I can get anyone to get on them is by manually dragging them into place(which is a problem with the AA gun as the Speed and Heading dials cover them).

I'm able to drag a petty officer and an officer unto the AA just before the plane makes it second run. Finally the gun starts opening fire, although seconds later we get a nice payload dropped midship which kills everyone on deck and sinks us. If we had survived the ordeal, I would have never been able to move my petty officer back as the Speed dial was covering him.

Did I do something wrong, or is this a problem with RFB?

In terms of mods I only have the following:
RFB2.0
RFBPatch
RSRD_RFB_575
RSRD_Patch
