The Warbirds Downunder 2011 air show is on this Saturday at Temora Aviation Musem. Thinking of taking a drive down there to check it out.

Is the Constellation a static exhibit at the museum or flying in?

That is the only bird in those pics I've never actually laid eyes on.

Have a great time!

"Connie" is the only flying Super Constellation in the world at present. She is ex U.S.A.F. but painted in Qantas colors from the '50's. Last time I was aboard was about 8 years ago and they hadn't changed the interior from the military config. I believe the plan was to re do it as it would have been as a passenger airliner.

Do go, do take your camera, do post your pics afterwards.

And if you're going to refit an aircraft out like a passenger airliner, you may as well take passengers..!

Rgr that.

It's a 5 hour drive from my place but should be worth it. Looking at the weather forecast, its looking like being a warm one so I hope it will stay that way.

Just got back home from the show. Well worth the drive an it only took about 4 hours each way. There were some interesting aircraft on show:

Gloster Meteor

Lockheed Husdon

Will post a more complete album when I've had time to go through all the photos and worked out which are keepers.

CA-25 Winjeel

CA-16 Wirraway

Lockheed Super-Constellation "Connie"

Didn't end up going aboard as the queue was quite long and I didn't want to miss any of the action.

Ryan STM-S2

Supermarine Spitfire Mk XVI

Plenty more to come...
