Default Torpedoes...?

Is it just my imagination, or do torpedoes sometimes stop before the end of their stated range? I swear, I just tried to sink the HMS Nelsol twice. Both times, the torpedo stopped moving far before the intended time. I saw it stop in the attack map. Glitch or bad luck?

The only time I have witnessed that is when an eel hits a hull (not viewable therefore no icon on attack map) at a bad angle and fails to detonate.

The hamster inside the torpedo had a heart attack, which also means that he failed to hit the button.

Do you have the firing pistol set to 30 knots or 45 (or you using electrics?). Might be advantageous to turn on the action cam so you can see what your eel's are doing when they arrive at their pre-determined positions, or if they're bouncing of the nelson's hull (duds) or they going too deep and passing under her so low as to not activate the magnetic firing mechanisms.

The external cam might be the most immediate assistance. Follow your eel's as they're launched all the way to target; if you're getting duds not much you can do. If they're consistently running say 4m lower than what you set just factor the -4m into the firing depth so the it doesn't run too low.
