...hello Sea Wraith, and welcome aboard.

i dont think there is a BF10 - ive seen this question asked before some time ago.
you could exit your current patrol and start again to see if they'll send you somewhere else - or go it alone to the same grid like BF13-15. its usually quite busy there.
but dont worry, others will be along with their advice too.

Welcome

Are yu using SH3 Commander and if so do you have the GWX CFG file Commander enabled?

If your using Commander simply type in a grid of your choice and if not, dock at base and start another patrol.

BF10 does not exist. This is a known bug.

Feel free to patrol wherever you like, or start another patrol.

Actually it's a super duper top-secret sector along the lines of Area 51. 'Officially' it doesn't exist, but the truth is out there...

Best wait until the commencement of hostilities because on Aug 1st everything is neutral and violating that neutrality would mean every country (including your own) considering you an enemy for the following 24 hours.

When you order a crash dive the boat will automatically level off at whatever the preset crash dive depth is in the game files. Default is 70 meters. You can change the preset crash dive depth in in the appropriate files(s), but whatever it is, you should let the boat finish the dive and level off at that preset depth before ordering a new one.

There is/was a bug known as the "crash dive blues" which caused the boat to continue diving out of control if you ordered a different depth in the middle of a crash dive (which would be done by clicking the desired depth on the depth gauge). I seem to remember reading something about this bug being fixed some way or another but I'm not sure, maybe someone else can elaborate on that.

Basically though when you order a crash dive you are telling the engineer to dive the boat at the steepest possible angle at flank (emergency) speed in order to reach a previously agreed upon depth as quickly as possible in an emergency situation and the game doesn't seem to like it if you change your mind in the middle. Given the RL physics of it, it's doubtful that you'd be able to "pull up" sooner in that situation anyway in a real boat.

Which is why it is always smart to know your depth under keel at all times.

Actually, if you are any place you can't crash dive safely, you should not be happy or complacent.

Exactly, which is why you should get in the habit of checking your depth just prior to any anticipated engagement. 'Tis a golden rule that should never be neglected.

I'd rather it was never 'forgotten'

There is a lovely .pdf instruction manual with GWX, can't off hand remember the location but it's there somewhere in the GWX section of your install. Or it's available from Jim's signature link (or my link to it here - http://www.gamefront.com/files/20814...V3_0_Final_pdf).

If you plan on printing it I'd recommend the 'without background' version - http://www.gamefront.com/files/20814...background_pdf - and be aware it's quite large. Once printed it's much more like a proper old school PC games manual!
