Am I dreaming?

Hi, another bug report/question from me. Today, I was going to play SH3 just as usual, but when I started my mission, everything sounded like I was dreaming (I wasn't, I tested it). So I exited the game, went through the sound options of my computer and tried another game. The sound was completly fine in that game so I tried SH3 a couple of times more. I'm still dreaming! Do anyone of you know how to fix this or do you think it's Bernhard who has been fiddling with my sound system?

Well, it's not very easy to explain, but it sounded something like echoes which repeated many times. Another thing that happened before that patrol was that SH3 Commander changed out a member of my crew. Who came in? BERNHARD!!! With a repair qualification! Imagine him trying to repair my diesel engines! Maybe I'm not so sure that I want to get my game fixed?

Things like these usually not starting to go weird if you haven't put your fingers where was no need

You may want to reinstall your sound drivers with default options and see if it helps

Another problem

I reinnstalled sh3 with gwx 3 and sh3 commander, but when I try to start it it says MOVIETEX.ACT is not found. What does that mean??? Do I need to do it all again?

Magnus, when uninstalling did you remove everthing? I don't know what OS you are using but with xp32bit home I delete all saves, everything in My Documents and use RegEdit in Start/run to manually delete SH3 from the registry. This is then what I believe is called a clean install.

Maybe someone could also say if it's possible to do multi installs of SH3, I haven't yet but I looked into a program/mod called multi SH3, but don't know if it's around anymore. Be worth saving future hassle of reinstalling all the time if it can be done.

Anyway, hope you get it running, good luck

P.S. Don't know if you still need to, but have you installed?

GWX3 GOLD CONFIG FILES FOR SH3 COMMANDER
An easy-to-use installer for the Cfg files needed to run JScones' SH3 Commander (version 3.2) with GWX3 GOLD:

that was from the GWX website, here is a link to the file:

http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/down...o=file&id=1421

not tested it though, I d/l from GWX website a couple of years back

Search in forums for: SH3 Cleaner 3.0 and download it

uninstall everything related to Sh3 again, run cleaner, check if there is no SH3 folder in my documents folder.

Check you PC for malware software or any virus

Reinstall the SH3 only, check the sound.

Do you have a dvd of SH3 or did you downloaded imidge it from internet ?

I think I did delete all files for SH3 before reinnstalling (I should have done it right, because I have reinnstalled SH3 over 10 times!). Do I need to reinnstall it all again? PS: How did you know my actual name?

I do have dvd version (Bought it in 2005). And theres no viruses on my computer, because I use both Avast! and Ad-Aware anti-virus.

Ad-Aware is not AV, AFAIK it's the coutermeasure software against spyware or adware, works poor IMO. Try Counter Spy 4 instead, much more reliable.

Avast.. is this a free AV soft ? =] Don;t trust anything that is for free.

My credit goes to ESET Nod32 instead.

Ok so you have a dvd, I bet you also have 1.4 update for the game right ?

Well, Avast! can be free, but I use the premium version that isn't free! And I do have 1.4 patch of course. EDIT: Now, as I look in the download instructions of GWX3 I see that I have followed every step in the right order so it shouldn't be wrong. It all went well before!
EDIT 2: Reinnstalling for the second time now!

I relly hate when ppl install games into C:\Program Files or even directly to branch C:\

My eternal advice for everybody to install/keep games, movies, music, etc that is not related to OS or program files at the drives that are not used by OS system - that means NOT at Drive C by default
