based on the old tom clancy cd rom, a decent game for its time. it will still run on windows xp, using a program called vdm sound. (mad props to Shearwater!!!)

anyway, if you can obtain a copy of the book, it has some insight on modern ASW tactics, and is a good read for any submarine enthusiast.

it does kind of get repetative at times, but it offers some good strategies that can be used in real life (i would assume) or in naval combat video game simulations.

it also features an interview w/ clancy and a royal navy captain in which they discuss their perspective on potential naval combat capabilites if a conflict did start w/ china, along with other topics, including the game.

without giving too much away, its kind of intresting to hear what they had to say (back when the book was written) about the allies' view on chinese foreign/economic/social philosophies, in regards to potential naval combat scenarios.

its obvious they knew back then that it would become the superpower it is now, on a economic basis, at the very least.
