Default Favorite Movie

I started this new thread because I didn't want to sidetrack the 'TV Quiz' thread any more than it already had been. While we were discussing Walter Brennan I was reminded of one of my favorite roles of his, and went looking for some good clips. What I found was a YouTube channel with whole movies! And one of them was one of my all-time favorites, Support Your Local Sheriff. James Garner is a traveller passing through town, who becomes the sheriff. Harry Morgan is the mayor. Joan Hackett is his loopy crazy insane daughter. Jack Elam, who usually played nasty bad guys, is the town character who becomes Garner's deputy. And Walter Brennan is the dim-witted head of a dim-witted outlaw family, with three sons, the dimmest, and funniest, of whom is played by Bruce Dern.

If you've never seen it you're in for a real treat. If you have, well, here's a chance to see it again. You'll have to ignore the subtitles though.

That is my favorite comedy film of all time. Seen it several times and still laugh. Great cast, well written and very funny.

One other move I never tire of is The Ten Commandments.
Weather you believe in the bible or God or not doesn't matter.
Again, great cast, well written, interesting story and brilliantly filmed.

Citizen Kane is another one, same reasons.

The 1954? version of War of the Worlds is my pick for fun SiFi.

War films: Patton, The Longest Day and Battle Ground top the list of older movies.

Westerns: All most any thing shot in black and white, really love the real old ones. Lived not far from where they filmed many of them, Corriganville and the Iverson movie ranch. Use to ride our horses there and ride all the trails(cut roads as they were called). Many of the sets were still there and we would play cowboy and bad men there. Would spend three or four days camping out, just us kids. Was a different world back then.
