Been working for weeks with the clouds in the game, just want more colors and cloud patterns. Course, anyone that plays with these files understands one color change can change and screw up other color values and all have to blend to some degree.
I've tweaked to get the sunset I like, more dark pinks and burnt reds to mimic a "sailors sky" mostly by adjusting the "black to red intensity" value, rather that changing many cloud colors themselves. Colors combinations seem to work better by changing other values than colors themselves, but I've adjusted a few, changed cloud sizes, etc.. One issue I can't figure exactly is the structure of sky files regarding time, as in I get the same sky at sun rise as I do sunset if the same weather pattern is present. Obvious there is a pattern just by looking at the files, but each sky file, artic, med, atl, all follow the same pattern and I'm not sure which controller says what file is used, except by constant trial and error, which takes too long. I need a way to seperate morning from afternoon, so the colors are different, no matter what I adjust, sunrise and set look about the same, unless weather changes. I prefer a way as not to have to change too many colors, cause then you're left adjusting every color to match. Is there a way to adjust the "black to red intensity dat" so that it will use seperate values duing different times of the day or weather changes... Simple more intense changes at sunset, less at sunrise. It seems the black to red value holds true regardless of time, so the only way to get different colors in the morning is changing cloud colors. I understand you can adjust colors in sky env files, but I prefer not to do too much of that. ![]() Last edited by Armistead; 08-16-11 at 02:41 PM. |
