While historical(mostly) one thing that has always annoyed me about RSRD is how it limits the subs you can use at certain dates(when they were in avail in RL) such as you can not select the Salmon Class out of Subpac to start in Jan 44, June 44 but you may in October 44.
Also hate how you are forced to transfer from pearl, to midway, to majuro etc. These were advance bases that subs would once in a while take R and R at.Guam is the only base that became HQ later in war for subs.Anyways, I'd like to change this and understand the files but not quite sure what to change so asking for help.Currently I am trying to make it so can use Salmon starting in June 44 out of subpac.I added Salmon after Balao, save and would that be it or more to do? Thanks in advance. This is what I learnt while editing for the British Med campaign:
To add a particular class to a career start you would also have to add it to the flotillas.upc as [Flotilla X.UserPlayerUnitType X], and then assign this class of boats their objectives ([Flotilla X.UserPlayerUnitType X.Objective 1,2,3,4,5...]). A bit tedious when you have multiple different objective areas, but you can copy it from another boat of the same base and then make the appropriate changes. |
