Default New rig.

So I am running on a pretty nice rig now and when I installed the game and added some mods...wow.

I had to take a break from this game because my old computer just could not take it with so little ram and a pretty crappy GPU, now I am running well beyond the minimum specs and noticed a immediate improvement.

I think this also solved my random CTD problem, now that I don't just barely meet the minimum.

now I can really enjoy this game and not worry about system related crashes anymore!

A quad core 2.8 Ghz (will overclock if needed)
Geforce 9800 GT (soon will be upgraded)
8 gigs of ram
700 watt PSU
Antec 300 case

So far it is running just about anything I can throw at it very well. as soon as I get a new video card I will really be able to go crazy but for now it is running great even with Maxed out settings on most games.

I am in the market for a new monitor because I am still using a old CRT that is not widescreen, any tips on buying one?

You want to buy one that you can afford and also has the highest contrast ratio (not dynamic but rather static). Of course size does matter also

I've been happy with Proview. However, there's a lot of variation within a particular brand. I recommend looking at monitors in-store and/or reading reviews then buying online (though Fry's price matches online if you have one local). I have a proview 22" LED and am happy.

Steve, please drive around on the lookout for a proper desk. There is a good chance you can get one free on the side of the road that is better than that one you're using.

Protect your investment in that nice monitor by using sturdy wood construction. That table is a fold up used for camping. One bump in the right spot and she may collapse!

If I had any money for a proper desk you can be sure I'd have one. My only other current option is to lie on the floor, and my old bones don't like to do that.

Maybe since you're so insistent you'd be kind enough to buy me one. And a proper computer chair. And a new computer while we're at it. Considering your screen name, maybe?

No, I just slid the keyboard over a little to the left.

I did get a good chair just today though.

Desk is next. Or a new computer. Or a car. One thing at a time.

I like the Hannspree 23.5" widescreen monitor I got for Christmas 2 years ago. Wife got it for my at Best Buy seeing it was on sale. Everything I have plays and looks very good on it.
