Another fine mess.story

The battle was true, i just spiced up the story a little with some of the crew.
Dispite some of SH5 issues. I am having a whale of a time.

U49

Mission: single-handedly search the South Atlantic for about 5 ships, the right kind of ships, and sink them, before Xmas. Or we will send you to the Russian front.

Location: Off Freetown, South Africa

after a particularly boring trip up and down the south Atlantic and running low on fuel, It was decided it was time to head back for a refit.
as it was only a short detour to Freetown. It was decided to pay Tommy a visit.

Hack had cooked up one of his specials. Beans and Pickled Cabbage. the result of over 50 men having violent expulsions of obnoxious gasses resulted in a emergency surface to ventilate the boat. Benno had to be prevented from smoking, as the resulting explosion could alert the Tommies to our presence.. Lucky there was fog, unlucky we were in only 25 metres of water, and had wandered into the defence perimeter of a convoy.

Unfortunately it gets worse, much worse.
Calling battle stations we send two eels into the misty shadows, swinging the UZO a destroyer was steaming towards us on the port bow. ALARM!!!!!!!!!!

Just as we dropped down the hatch, I saw another DD approaching from the stern. we went to periscope depth in record time, turning hard to port. only one thought arose in my mind we are so screwed, anyway tube 5-set, speed Fast, Depth 1.1, flood tube . Bugger, aiming on auto, fire on my command. Loss. . . . . . . a pillar of flame shot up into the sky, we are being pinged. hard starboard rudder. the destroyer passed so close that you could count the barnacles on its..

.Wasser bombs! the boat shooked, the noise was deafening, the radio broke (as always), flooding..one more like that and we are fish food. Hard left Rudder, spread shot coming up, tube 1&3, Fast, 1.1, open tubes. here it comes, the destroyer swings around the two T1’s speed out. this DD is supercharged, It accelerates out the way like it was crewed by the devil himself. I shout curses and turn hard again. more Wasser bombs. this time we were lucky. one more eel remaining in tube 4 at 95% loaded. I shout down at the urgency required at this moment in time, as we are in a spot of bother.

I line up the scope. the destroyer is coming in fast to finish us off, I think to myself this is like bloody U571! this was it, is this the end. LOSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!and hard port rudder. A few seconds can sometimes feel like eternity, without warning an almighty flash followed by and explosion. The beast was slain. the crew all cheered in relief.

After creeping away, we were repeatedly attacked by the RAF.

we recieved a message. Be More Aggressive.

This is commandant, is why this is why our U-boat looks like Swiss cheese.

Good story! Some minor spelling errors (past tense of shake is shook, not shooked), but very good energy and pace in your writing.
