Hello!
First time poster. And I do love this little game. I can only imagine what it would have become had it not been abandoned. And I'll always hope for another WWI sub simulator. But on to my question. Was looking at the details of my previous missions and it said 'Rescues'. I'm not sure what this means and right now, alas, I am separated from the manual by the holidays. Is this that my crew gets rescued, or perhaps they pick up survivors? If so, I've been cruelly leaving a lot of sailors to their fates. |

Welcome aboard U35 Captain,
Maybe I left a bunch of 'em behind too. I played the entire war campaign (49 missions) and didn't see anything about rescues. On the other hand, you can abandon ship and be rescued yourself. Sadly, I had to do that a few times. Not exactly a good career move on my part. Didn't Doenitz have to abandon ship and ended up a prisoner of war in WWI? Save the Ales! Raider M The Cruel Sea One of the classic naval adventure stories of World War II, Monsarrat's novel tells the tale of two British ships trying to escape destruction by wolf pack U-boats ... |

Pretty sure he did. Didn't hurt his career any, in the end, given the whole 'Grand Admiral' part later on :P
But thanks - maybe that's it. It's about all I can think of at this point other than a feature that wasn't implemented. Because I've played most of the campaign at this point and never seen a sign of movement. Thinking I'm going to park next to a destroyed oiler next time, see if anything happens. |
