Default Wish me luck boys

As many of you know i sold my business several months ago.

since then i have been fishing, drinking beer, and enjoying the easy life while funds allowed.

now, the time has come to return to work.

A good friend of mine who is a top man in the company he works for has encouraged me to apply for a job with his firm. I cannot divulge too many details of the job at this point - but i have been assured that starting pay ranges between $100,000 and $150,000 annually.

two of the higher ups told me not to worry about my application - that they would put in a good word for me and that everyone they have recommended thus far has been hired.

My application was emailed in 2 hours ago.

this is an opportunity i cannot pass up. if hired, this will be the highest income job i have ever held.

I have to put forth the maximum effort.

fingers crossed

I wish you the best of luck, and my prayers go with you as well. Should this not work out for you, I know a few guys at BNSF who may be able to help you out getting another 100k+ job via references,, and its easy work. Really easy work, as compared to flight school. We're not actually hiring right now, but the HR guys have plans for another conductor class in anticipation of peak traffic. We've lost so many new conductors due to the recession ( guys got laid off and then just quit) that we're now having a shortage.

Be aware, the work will likely take you away from your family, as the scheduling is really unpredictable, and frequent, but it pays well, and should you ever find yourself in need, I will do my level best to land you a job. Also, it may require you to relocate, seeing as how you don't live near a rail hub. It ain't the best solution, but it is there for you if you need it.

I'm sorry I can't do more.

Thanks! from the sounds of the unpredictability of scheduling and the length of time away from home, it sounds a lot like what i'll be experiencing with this job.

My friend who is on a job site right now has been there for 25 days now, and has not come home since the project started. he expects to be there about 60 days... but 90 days is probable. he says when they release him it might be 6 days or 6 months before he gets another project. so the schedule is really unpredictable, but he said i could count on $800 to $1,000 per day once i get all my on the job training done and am no longer a newbie.

again everyone, thanks for the well wishes. time to grab some food and get back to it.

Well, if the force is lift or thrust, may it be with you. If it's gravity or drag, mebbe not so much.

Truly, GR, best of luck, best wishes, high hopes for you. Here's hoping that this is the Golden Opportunity you've been looking for, and that it is rewarding, fulfilling, and satisfying in all respects!
