As a new player I can say that this is truly a great time to play Silent Hunter 5...if I had played this a year ago when it was released I would have been miserable with it and threw the baby out with the bathwater and never looked back
I'm a gamer...I played Silent Hunter 3 and Silent Hunter 4 unmodded (can you believe it?) for years and had shelved them after I got tired of them, never having discovered the wonderful modding community and the transformational work put forth that would have kept me playing those titles for years more... So about a month ago I find out about Silent Hunter 5...my interest is piqued...I check it out...after 15 min playing it I say "whoa...looks cool"...I assume all the problems from the earlier incarnations are fixed and that all the stuff from those games would be in the newest one, plus added coolness, right? so I go to the ubi store and buy it without really giving it a good once-over I start to play Silent Hunter 5 and after a few hours of oooh's and aaah's at the graphics, I started to wonder..."what happened to this?" and "how come I can't do that?", and the worst was "hey..I used to be able to so and so"....I was feeling like I wasted my money and I hate that feeling Then I found SubSim and all the talented modders fixing a really badly broken game... Now my game looks like a movie and has most of what was missing in the stock game, plus added coolness... and is getting better and more complete every day Thanks to all of you this game is not only now playable, but actually enjoyable... Hats off to you! P.S. in my opinion Ubi owes you all money for doing thier work for them Last edited by Kapitan_Kaput; 04-25-11 at 05:45 AM. |
