Can't see the aircraft.?

I’m very new to SHIV. SHIII w/ GWX is my experience. When I have a contact for example of 2 ships and an enemy aircraft when tabbing the “>” keys to see these objects only the ships are displayed. I never get the aircraft to show up on the screen. I can hear them and see them attacking me in the advent screen but I can’t bring them up on my own. What am I doing wrong?

That's because the aircraft do not show up with the camera's previous and next <> keys. As far as I know, they never did in SHIV.
