Default Triumph of the wolfpacks

ive actually found a few threads but none truly answered my question.

Im trying to complete the Triumph of the wolf packs in the Black Pit Campaign, and i just intercepted a wolf pack. i follow it for a while, then i THINK i right-clicked and all of a sudden my boat is perfectly aligned with the wolf pack and it seems as though i am integrated into it.

But i was 2 Km away from the nearest U-Boat, i want to get closer and i plot a course which effectively breaks me away from the auto-course wolf pack. But when i try to re-integrate into the wolf pack it wont let me.

so......anyone know the button to re-integrate me back into the Wolf pack so i can finish this crazy objective?

There is no such a button, all depends on your skill. I also sailed for almost a day with a wolfpack, was a great experience. Then I got bored and broke formation. Easy way to sail with them is to plot the course and match the speed.

Anyway, you dont need to follow them or do anything in common if you dont want too. But when you encounter a convoy, try to shadow it and report contact for a while. If is any wolfpack near by, they will join you. So make sure you have IRAI in the mod list if you wanna see a great AI vs AI battle :P

Well its just such that i clicked some button that put me in an Autocourse with the wolfpack at their speed. I honestly dont know how. But thats what i ended up doing was having to match their course and speed up/slow down because half speed was slightly slower then their pace so i had to keep speeding up. But the stupid thing is, when I encountered a big convoy, the wolf pack kept on sailing. Their was a uboat that sailed RIGHT next to it and took a beating before actually diving.

Then, he did nothing. i ended up having to do everything, which was fire every last Acoustic torpedo i had and dive. I ended up sinking maybe..... ~23000 Tons. So i had to go home because of earlier conflicts leaving my hull integrity at 3, and i lost the damned campaign. CAuse wolfpacks always appear where your not, and when you can find one, you cant find a convoy.

Its true, the wolpacks are not very smart. Most of the time they act weird, but will greatly confuse the escorts so you can do great damage to the convoy.

I was witness once to a convoy vs wolpack encounter, was such a mess. But at the end, no ship has survived and also the wolfpack was decimated.

In BP you dont need to go home, you can call for a resupply in the middle of Atlantic. Just ask the radioman to do it.

He always denies me. THe only time where resupply was possible was when we were striking the american seaboard

There is a cooldown for calling resuply. Not sure for how long, but is for days.. or maybe only once a week.

I too am trying to complete triumph of the wolfpacks and it's..well..problematic

I leave breast...link up with a wolfpack off the irish coast and send a status report...continue in the pack WNW a while...pack changes course and heads WSW....I send in a status report...continue on with the pack a while...sept 24th bdu sends me a contact...hey my pack is heading straight for it, great!...continue on in the pack a while...Ship Sighted!...Taskforce Sighted!...radio in my contact report and dive to periscope depth...pack proceeds to cross the path of the convoy just in front of it and out of visual range and to my amazement after reading the threads I could find on the subject, they actually stopped about 3 thousand meters south of the convoy!...so by this time I'm already in attack position and ready to fire...I wait to see if the pack sets up for thier attack run...(sigh) no dice...each boat just make confused circles where they are about 2000 meters SW of my firing position...I make my initial attack...pack continues it's tight circles...by the time my attack is over, 9 ships are on the bottom (2 bieng the destroyer escorts I quickly dispatched with AP shells from the deck gun at extreme range as the convoy sailed on), for about 60k tons...lifeboats, debris, oilslicks, and corpses spanning a long swathe of the north atlantic...I grin with satisfaction as I fire a mag of AA rounds into the nearest lifeboat (a pity lifeboats are indestructable)...the whole time my wolfpack stayed in the same spot a couple thousand meters south of our initial contact point, each boat making tight circles...not very impressive

but...if I resupply and complete the tonnage requirement, will that be enough of a wolpack action to complete the mission requirements? somehow I doubt it as the crosses are still not filled

this is third time I've tried this mission...getting frustrated with it

The above happened with IRAI installed? Doesn't sound like IRAI was either installed or was installed incorrectly. If IRAI was installed outcome would have been totally different.
