That's a cool effect. But only of use if you want just a piece of plastic afterwards. It's not a cdrw anymore.

Might be good for classified CD disposal for the military/government.

A few seconds in a microwave does the job.
Do it in the dark and you get a killer light show also.

I know a guy who works at a smelting plant. They do government contract work on occasion, which means an armed convoy with Uzi carrying G-Men take over the plant to burn documents in the furnace.
