Default The high sea, give me the high sea

In a Europe I no longer reconize, from an England I no longer understand. I do believe England still has a lot to offer this world, but not with a military and not with a middle class Europe that believes in a control that sends shivers down my spine. But at least one Englishman has taken up the challenge of Freedom, alone voice right now crying out in the desert places.

I notice the foreign flags flying at the proms are increasing every year as the idea of universal Freedom is realized not through politics, but music.

Alas we cannot stand on our own two feet these days as one of these feet is owned by someone else. We import so much and produce so little that our economy is tied to Europe, we server that and we go down the toilet quicker than you can say 1066.
I'm proud to be British, and I say British not English because I personally think that we have worked at our finest when we have worked together. Yes, we have done some terrible things in our past, but then you show me a nation who hasn't.
I think that Britain is slowly working its way towards a crisis of identity, multi-culturalism has changed the way Britain is, some say for the better and some say for the worse. I cannot really judge that, and I shall not because I have friends of many nationalities who work here with me, and they are great people. Those who come purely to cheat the system, yes, they are low-lifes...but how does one police the system without subjecting all to the same strict rules because of a few? It seems that more often than not these days it is more profitable to lie than it is to be honest, particularly in the benefits department, and if you know the right people then you're sorted.

Heh, I'm rambling again. Still, I do love Britain, it is a lovely country and has had an impressive history, but I'm no great nationalist, and I laugh at the BNP as much as the next man (particularly their last leaflet with the Polish Spitfire ).

Yes your right, our best is when we pull together as British. Europe is bleeding our Nation white, and all this in one life time. If some one had said this 30 years ago we would have laughed, but how much longer can this EuroNonsence go on.

Yes so do I. BNP has no direction or idea, the worry is they find one before this generation of policians wakes up.

So thats the thing that was started by a Londoner who learnt in Italy, another Londoner who worked under a Spaniard and a Jamaican who learnt his music in Germany. They came together to bring music from all over the world to the masses.
A very international music event wouldn't you say right from its inception?
But hey look on the bright side, they do play music by British composers too.

Though if you do really have an issue with it perhaps you can get on to the promoters and make them confiscate every flag from every customer and insist that they are only allowed to wave the little British flags that come in the pack you get with the concert program

Sorry Tribsman, I have confused you a little. My point is that different Nationalities can celebrate music freely and wave what ever flag they like, this doesn't seem to be a problem for people, who ever they are or what ever they believe. It's the Euro political class that have all the say and their will be done. Nigel Farage is just pointing out to all of us, that if we declare a no vote, it's ignored and the gravey train rolls on.

By contrast to the Euro political mess, I used the proms as an example of folks agreeing to be different and getting on with it through the celebration of music, hope thats clearer now.
