Default "Late war sensors" mod from GWX

Hey guys!

I'm running an older computer here, and I recall in the past that I tried to install GWX, but it seemed like it made my system slow down so much that SH3 became basically unplayable.

What I'd like to know is if anyone could please send me or upload the "Late war sensors" mod from GWX? I'd like to take a look at it to see if I can figure out exactly how they got radar warning detectors on the snorkels, and see if I can do something similar to my stock install.

Thanks guys!

Der_Hans,

Here is a .rar of the contents of that Mod from my Program Files folder, it contains a new Basic.cfg and some Sub data (skins presumably) - hope this helps:

Yhea, thanks!

Looks like those are the relevant files, I'm just kinda surprised that there aren't more of them. Now I'll start figuring out what they changed and see if I can get it working on stock SH3 or not.

A pure curiosity question do you intend to play with the GWX mod? And if you want, you can specify your system-specified so maybe it is possible to run GWX anyways

Good luck in your efforts but to be quite frank there is more to it than you imagine...models and textures etc. etc.

It is also considered good form if you ask the maker of said work for permission to use their work.

Ah bugga, I feel like I have stepped on toes here

Sorry, I should have been less quick to respond and looked into the mod author(s) - as it is a mod I have not used as yet, I don't know who wrote it and never thought to look before posting the files....

A great big GROVEL from me to whichever GWX devs wrote this one, I promise not to do it again *holds wrist out to be slapped*

I've had it on this system before, but it seemed like going in or near harbors or looking at the external views or periscope views got VERY VERY choppy.

It looks like theres some stuff that I'm missing, and this part can't just be "plugged in" to a stock SH3 mod without some other work.

I wasn't aware that anyone would be insulted by my personal use of a mod released for free to anyone who cared to download it. In any case, I apologize.

And just so's everyone knows, for GWX if you want the names of the devs for a particular mod try the manual (yes, I know, no-one ever reads the manual....)

For the late war sensors they are Ref and vonHelsching with assistance by Txema and thanks for research to JScones and Jaxa.

Der_Hans - if you want to contact them to ask, click on Community at the top of the forum, then choose Captains Roster and you can search them out from there to send a PM - sorry, I shoulda said before mate

EDIT: Ooooh, you edited your post while I was editing mine to answer yours...and now it is gone LOL.

Anyhows, have fun Der_Hans, I am lightyears away from trying to mod myself.

What is your graphics card in the memory 256 mb? System Pentium 4 2.8 GHz, Ram 2 gigs of memory? GWX has a different structure of a stock as there are many differences not only this.

I might ask if they'd consider releasing it as a stand-alone mod, assuming that they're able to. It looks like it took more work than I was expecting for what seems at first to be something pretty simple. Anyway, thanks again for trying to help out earlier.

I certainly didn't feel "insulted" your word not mine...all I have done is simply point out the position regarding the work of The Grey Wolves.

Here is the official position:

http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=155583

I won't be responding further, I simply attempted to clarify the position.
