Default Taking off the training wheels

Well, after 20 patrols at 91% realism I think it's about time I turn up the difficulty scale a bit, up to this point about 75% of my shots have been made from calculations my weapon officer has came up with. And that has brought me 360,000 tons for my career, which I don't know if that's good or bad but I was proud of it.

Today, is a new day, I'm scrapping my old career and starting a brand new one, the only realism feature that I'll be keeping unchecked is the event cam, because I like eye candy. I'm starting at the beginning of the war and I intend to sail through it all the way to the bitter end. We set sail first thing tomorrow, good luck my friends, and may the allied forces never know what hit them!

The event cam is always the first to go in my games. However I always keep the free cam. Which is even worse realism-wise I guess
But with GWX, the hig res fix, MEP environment, sober's waves and Sh4 effects for sh3, the graphics get so good I sometimes just like to check out the environment or make some screenshots with the free cam.

I wish you good luck on your career and especially your resolution to sit the entire war out. So far on a dozen careers or so for some reason I always find an early grave halfway through '43...
Happy hunting!

In my game, the external cam is the option that has that last little 1% of realism value attached to it. It's the one thing I'm pretty sure I'll never turn off, at least not permanently.

Among other things, it's just too much fun watching my boat plow through a wild north Atlantic storm with "Ride of the Valkyries" blasting out of the gramophone.

As much as i loved the free-cam on my last campaign, i couldn't help but feel that it was too much of a cheating device. Although I will still use it from time to time when I'm trying to take a screen-shot to show off n stuff.

I made it to August 1942 my last campaign, but in all honesty over half of it was before i got the GWX 3 gold mod, which is another reason I've decided to get a fresh start.
