Default black screen after ubi logo and video

hi, i have silent hunter from stat and i wanted it to install it to the pc that has w7, i made it through the starforce but now after the loading its black screen. What to do? any suggestion also for making it play at 1900 1200?

K-lite or FFDSHOW codec pack does this, don't remember which one, but if you got one of those installed, you have to get rid of it.

^ Actually Both!

K-Lite Codec Pack contains FFDSHOW, which you need to disable.

Otherwise you'll always get the black screen with mouse cursor trails.

Edit - Oh, wait! W7 was mentioned. Any compatibility issues there?

sorry to necro this thread but i seem to have the same issue here (albeit with W7) how do i disable these mods? Have GWX gold installed.

Edit: these mods don/t show in JGSME

There not mods, they are Codecs, similar to video drivers.

I think you can unistall them trough add/remove programs, but There may be an easier way to do it.

Allows you to play certain types of video files I believe. There are many different types of audio and video codecs out there.

And I'm glad you necro'd this thread, as there was another member who posted the same question recently and nobody knew the answer.
