Default Z0mbie Ants!?

Man this creeps me out on so many levels. I cant wrap my head around it. How does a fungus, a non sentient being control an ant?

Spooky, enit?

Now imagine that those fungus-controlled ants are fire ants... then they crawl into your ear, and burrow into your brain, and then the fungus takes over your brain...

I recall seeing pictures of the ants with the fungus growing out of cracks in their heads...it's...terrifying.

Nature can be a lot scarier than any sci-fi film, that's for certain...primarily because it's real.

Funghi must not necessarily be bad if attacking insects:

Seems at leats this time they might get to results without human suffering ("operation paperclip" anyone ?)
