Why does the Jupiter Plant in Call of Pripyat make me feel uncomfortable.

Seriously, I've never felt more uncomfortable in that place than the X18 Lab from Shadow of Chernobyl.

Beside the mutant blind dogs and some minor anomalies, the atmosphere of the Jupiter Plant are so unsettling. I always expect something dangerous and scary, like a Chimera or a Bloodsucker, but this place is empty. I swear to god that I saw the shadows of figures swooping around and... and... and...
