Default I need a mentor for SH5

I rotate my games, and I just put this one back in the rotation. Otherwise I'm usually playing Skyrim, Company of Heroes II, Civ4: Colonization, L4D2 or GTA IV.

Heres why I shelved it several months ago.

The HUD interface sucks in this game. And even though I've sworn that I've installed a HUD mod to give me access to more crew members than just the Torpedo guy who sets the TDC, thats all I get is the Torpedo guy.

I download the mods, I put them in JGSCME, and then activate them.

So heres what I need. I need a mentor, someone who is highly skilled and can help walk me through modding the game, to get the game to a level of playability.

realism is impossible without mods, I particularly can't get the hydrophone to detect enemy ships.

Would someone be willing to "mentor" me and bring me up to speed on how I can make this game playable on realism settings?

I watch the tutorials and such. I mod most of my PC games, but this one requires such extensive modding to make it playable, I find it a real challenge compared to other games that I've modded.

If anyone is interested, my AOL IM is SuperJew113. Any fellow gamers out there, I play a broad library of games which I would be happy to help you others out on in trade for you helping me play SH5.

Check the 2nd and 1st topic in this forum. This is a step by step guide to get stuff working .. it will teach you what you want to know.

I can relate tho .. there are quite a few steps .. but if you read carefully and follow the instructions, you should have no real issues, and at least more to the point questions, that can be answered to the point ..

The information you ask is available, with screenshots and all. If I'm not mistaken, searching for it on youtube even yields results.

I'm not mistaken

the hardest part with sh5 is getting past the huge lists of mods to know what to use

this community will help anyone so its not like other game sites with pety attitudes, here we are all one big family and all you have to do is ask.

when you are ready to make your own mods the same applies, just ask and you will be taught anything and everything you need to know if we know how.

welcome aboard

Ok I think I've finally figured out how to get mods to work, the only catch is I got the Steam version of the game, and apparently a lot of mods work a lot better if you own the DVD version.

Talk to me on AIM and I'll see what I can do to help.

Not a lot of mods: just TDW's patches, though you are going to miss a lot of features and fixes not using them

Erm... what UI mod are you trying to use? What is the problem with it? Can you send me a Magnifying glass for me to decipher the pic you have posted?

EDIT: Okay, it is New UIs that you want to use, learned it from your other thread. So, what is the problem that you have met?
