22 March 1943:
Ordered to photograph Hiroshima Harbor. After sinking a subchaser on the way in, got into prescribed range but the game wouldn't let me take the photos. Screw that...not gonna wait around for it; let's get the hell outta here! On the way out planted six torpedoes into a motionless Shokaku-class fleet carrier, which blew up for 28,000 tons. Sank three more ships (including an old tanker) and returned to port with 40,515 tons to my credit. Not only was I offered command of a brand-new sub, but I was also awarded the Medal of Honor! Woot! My question is this: it was ideal weather, clear as a bell, broad daylight, but the camera wouldn't let me take pics...anyone else had this problem before? -Matt

Did you lock the periscope on the target you were trying to take a picture of?
