Default Why can't i reload saved games ?

Hello,
I have "online saving" turned off.
After sinking 5 troops ships (lol) in campaign the sim automatically saved the game, when i was still submerged.

Well i know that Silent Hunter has never saved games correctly since Silent Hunter 1, especially when you are submerged.
Well they only had 20 (twenty) years to fix that from version 1, so there obviously will be a century gone until someone has the solution, if ever.

I know that it it a terrible task for programmers to make a sub simulator where you would be :

a) able to save and reload a game when the sub is submerged

b) able to save and reload a game when any ships or a harbour is around, because reloading this game will either crash to desktop, or the surface ships would suddenly cruise into the land, fly around, or balance vertically on the shore.

c) able to reload the game in the same situation like weather, visibility, target solution and the same ships being around, as when saving the sim.

No, not ever possible, ok.

So since i know all that i waited some time, surfaced, and saved the sim THEN. TWO TIMES. An hour later.
And now guess what ?

You cannot reload the sim at that point, all the last three saved games cannot be reloaded - crash to desktop again, again and again.

I am meanwhile very good in sinking the ships, but i would really like to know whether this will go on forever like in Bill Murray's "Groundhog day", or if i will ever be released out of this ?
Pleeeze !

Greetings,
Catfish

I always save on the surface and have noticed that with sh5 it saves everything except damage . Luckily i have only had the corrupt save 1 or 2 times . Its painful , i know .

Hello,
painful and wasting time, yes.
Now the sim just crashed to desktop from mid-play, after sinking three ships, when firing at the last.

Now i cannot even reload the game at the point i reloaded it the last time. I see the boat and all shortly, someone says something which is cut off and bam, back to desktop.

I guess it will take some time until i give it a new try. For now i am done and i'm really happy i payed only 10 $

Greetings,
Catfish

I have the online saving turned on, and I save submerged or surfaced depending on where I am when I save the game. So far, I haven't had any problems at all loading saved games. The only irritating thing is when you save surfaced close to an enemy ship in dense fog and heavy wind, and then when you load the fog and wind is gone, and so are you after a few sec..

No ! I think it's the other way round !

I am not the only one though, have read his several times from several persons, not alone at Subsim. It seems if one saved game is screwed, all the others following cannot be reloaded as well. So you save the game after an attack and if it somehow was not saved right, any later game saved will also be screwed up - so you better pray that your first save did the trick.
Maybe graphic load is too high ?
