Default Nautical Charts

Speaking of which......

Does anybody have a good link to any charts that describe features in detail?

Ie, What is the bay/gulf just west of Gibraltar called, What are the straights just north of Scapa Flow called? Etc Etc.

I want to use more descriptive terms, but can't find any good charts that list them.

IIRC the area between the Orkneys and the Shetlands is called the Fair Isle Gap. Found this for the area right around Scapa:

The little bay to the north as you pass through the Straits into the Med, between Gibraltar and Spain? I think is just the Bay of Gibraltar.

It seems to be part of the Strait of Gibraltar, and has no special name.

I have a fairly good set of National Geographic maps, but of course they're all in storage. Usually I use them to flesh out my patrol reports.

I meant this:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bay_of_Gibraltar

But I'm not sure if Gargamel was talking about that, or the area of the Atlantic where it funnels into the Straits. In which case I think you're right, it's just the Atlantic with the Med on the other side and the Straits in between.

Yeah, you guys got the idea of what I'm asking. Now, there's got to be a good map somewhere online that lists all those names. Google maps doesn't.

Google Earth does, if you click the right buttons.
