Hamsters are very territorial and have been known to even attack horses that where at the wrong time in the wrong place. So better watch out when you meat one in open nature.

Epic hamster is awesome. That thing wasn't taking any BS from anybody. I'm glad they at least put it back in the taller grass at the end.

ahh, the hedgehog story, it's true I swear on my life

here it goes: a couple of years back, when I was in Croatia vacationing with a couple of friends, went for a walk in the middle of the night, trying to walk of the bad mix of beer and brandy (the submarine cocktail): It were the outskirts of a village and I heard a rattle in the bushes. Being and outdoor type and drunk I was not affraid of the sound and went to check what it was. And whisteling like an idiot would whistle to his dog. All of a sudden a hedgehog sprang out of the bushes, charged at me, bit my shoe cause it jumped on the toe area and ran off back into the bushes. I was surprised but not shocked. When I got back to ''base camp'' I just said I got attacked by a hedgehog and even got small teethmarks on the shoe to prove it, tthe legendary Battle of Rovinj was concluded

And that's the real difference between European backyard wildlife, and North American. You have epic hamsters, we have possums. One will do battle you, the other will play dead

I'm calling tactical victory to the hedgehog. He achieve surprise and caused some damage and the invader retreated.

It was a guerilla attack, pure and simple. I should have looked for his burrow during daytime and do some shock and awe

Good point. He did force the invader to withdraw in shame... clearly an example of what appears to be a smaller force earning a victory over a larger, allegedly superior force.

Who needs a guard dog, when you can have that guarding your house. No one would dare burgle your house with that at the door
