Default SH3/SH3GWX concurrent running?

Having successfully set up and now running SH3GWX, is it possible to run the original SH3 from the desktop icon without conflict...or must I only use SH3GWX?

Are you using SH3 Commander? A good help to start the SH3 and that you can make different settings,

GWX installs in whatever SH3 game folder you directed it to - so that existing version of the game has been overwritten with the GWX super-modded version. When you click on the SH3 shortcut that points to the .exe file in that game folder, or load that installation of the game with Commander, you're playing GWX.

In order to play the stock game in addition to a GWX version (or any other modded game installation) you need multiple game installations on your hard drive, one to keep as the stock version and one or more to mod with GWX or some other modifications of your choosing.

To do this you need a clean installation of the stock version which you then copy to your hard drive in a different location and mod with GWX or whatever so you can play the two (or more) different versions. You will also need MultiSH3 to run different versions of the game on the same computer. MultiSH3 allows you to create a separate folder in My Documents for each installation of the game, so player files from one version don't get mixed up with player files from another.

To run multiple installs you need to keep a stock SH3 handy, make copies with new names and then add the mods. You can't reverse-engineer a stock copy once GWX is added.

This little app helps:
