Default New simulation in developement: Diving trip to the Titanic

TLM Studios is a German developer that most people here probably do not know. They started with a Train Simulator module featuring the Subway in Berlin, then showed two independant subway simulators that are of very good visual quality (I know the one that again visits Berlin, the other was for The Path in New York), they published a real-time role playing game (Sunshine), and their last strike was a Bus Simulator for New York.

They now work on the simulation of visiting the Titanic down there in the dark, with the player sitting in the 3D-modelled interior of the research submarine that gets launched from the surface ship, and once arrived there he will be able to steer a remote controlled diving robot into and through the wreck, searching for treasures and unique items and seeing the Titanic's glorious interior that now is hidden under corroding rust, sand, corals. The graphics are photorealistic.

The site has a minor display issue, at least for me. at the bottom, you can click on screenshots, at the left top, partly hidden, there is a small menu where you can access videos, and some project data. the first video has much text in the first minute, you may want to move thr slider to the right until the clips start.

Can't say anything on gameplay, but the visuals look like being taken from a James Cameron docu on TV!

TLM Studios, that explains the fantastic looking graphics there. They do do very good stuff indeed. I hope they do the third underground sim soon, rumour had it to be one of our Tube lines.

Very good graphics in this, thanks for the link Skybird, one to keep an eye on.

Looks interesting, though I wonder for how long it can really thrill one. I don't think it has much long term potential for the player.

TLM have done pretty niche stuff for a while. You'd be surprised what there is out there (not necessarily by TLM). Fork Lift truck simulator, combine harvester simulator, etc.

Not to hijack the thread, apologies in advance but, here's the real deal:

Dive to the Titanic!

site in German.

I think the sim might be a tad less expensive though...

Indeed....
not sure if that's a "good" price?
Is that what people would pay to do that? A normal price for such a expedition, i wonder
Dam, just converted into $ AU, = $50,083 and a few cents

Does seem a bit steep, but considering the resources involved for such an expedition, then you begin to understand why it is so.
A bit like the upcoming tourist trips into the upper atmosphere by Bransons spaceplane.

So it's like controlling the diving robots that actually go next to the Titanic, right? I suppose that's interesting.

How about a game that would simulate the very technical and dangerous wreck and cave diving? A bit like the SWAT - simulators, you'd control a group of divers and would need to keep an eye out on several factors. And to make things more difficult you could do historical dives as well with historical (read: dangerous) equipment.

This Titanic sim looks amazing! I love niche stuff like this. I have always been fascinated by Titanic and other grand liners of her time. I can only hope it makes its way to the States and that my computer could run it.

If you like Titanic so much try building or buying a model kit of her. A bigger one enclosed in display case.

I like the Titanic as a testament and symbol to human arrogance, foolishness and vulnerabilities.

The rusting interior resolution is not high enough for my taste and it looks too bright. Search ligh is usually more focused(limited)
